Simple, Reliable,
Low Maintenance
TRO Measurement

TRO sensors are now a critical part of the maritime industry. A malfunction can bring shipping operations to a halt. Halogen's TRO sensor measures chlorine from 0.03 to 20 ppm in all types of water — regardless of flow rate, salinity, or turbidity — with no reagents and no complex plumbing.

Dramatically Simpler Installation

Halogen's patented Direct Pipe Insertion (DPI) design eliminates the extra components required by conventional online DPD systems — reducing installation cost, footprint, and ongoing maintenance significantly.

Proprietary Technology

Simple, reliable operation from a robust marine device. Five patented technologies work together to make the Halogen TRO sensor the most capable and lowest-maintenance BWMS sensor available.

speed

HiRes TRO™

Patented impeller system enables Direct Pipe Insertion into the ballast pipe, eliminating sampling pumps, automatic valves, sampling lines, waste lines, and skid mounting. Unaffected by flow from 0 to 4 m/s — the only direct pipe insertion TRO sensor that accurately measures TRO under varying flow rates. Magnetically coupled pump motor rated for 20,000-hour life.

auto_mode

SensiCLENE™

Patented self-cleaning system using polymer beads that circulate within the sensor shroud and continuously clean the electrodes. Removes salt and organic buildup within minutes of startup. No filters to clean. Accuracy is not affected by turbidity in muddy ports.

water_drop

DryGLAS™

Unique pH cartridge that quickly stabilizes after drying out. The only pH sensor on the market that survives both high and negative pressures within a ballast pipe — ensuring reliable operation when the pipe is emptied. Sensor stabilizes within minutes after extended dry periods.

waves

HaloSAL™

Automatic salinity compensation technology. The sensor compensates for signal changes based on water conductivity — whether fully marine seawater or freshwater (0.2 PSU salinity). No other TRO sensor on the market can compensate for changes in salinity.

bolt

Rapid Response ORP™

For BWMS systems that use ORP measurement. Traditional ORP probes suffer damage if left dry. The Halogen Rapid Response ORP sensor will never be poisoned or damaged if allowed to dry out — a significant advantage in ballast water applications where pipes are regularly emptied.
