Introducing the Halogen H2: Our Second-Generation Multiparameter Chlorine Sensor
After a decade of real-world deployments across municipal water systems, reclamation facilities, and industrial sites, we're launching the Halogen H2 (Halogen 2) Multiparameter Sensor — the next evolution of our proven reagentless chlorine monitoring platform.
The original MP5 changed the game for water utilities by eliminating reagents, membranes, and constant calibration cycles. The H2 takes every lesson learned from thousands of field hours and turns it into a sensor that's easier to service, lasts longer between maintenance, and delivers even tighter accuracy — without sacrificing any of the simplicity operators rely on.
What's New in the H2
Replaceable Chlorine Sensor with Factory Onboard Calibration
Swap the chlorine sensor in the field — the new unit ships pre-calibrated and ready to measure. No bench calibration, no downtime.
Long-Life PEEK Wear Parts
New PEEK (polyether ether ketone) construction lasts twice as long as previous wear parts, dramatically reducing maintenance frequency.
Improved Fast Priming After Air Exposure
When the sensor encounters air — during installation, maintenance, or low-flow events — the H2 recovers and returns accurate readings faster than ever.
Vertical Installation OK
The H2 can be installed vertically, opening up mounting options in tight vaults and confined spaces where horizontal installation wasn't practical.
Optional Pressure Sensor
An integrated pressure sensor option provides real-time line pressure data alongside chlorine, pH, ORP, conductivity, and temperature.
Completely Serviceable Design
Every component — chlorine sensor, pH sensor, cable assembly, wear parts — is field-replaceable. No more shipping the entire sensor back to the factory.
Replaceable Cable Assembly
NSF-61 certified cable assemblies in standard lengths can be swapped on-site, eliminating a common single point of failure.
Still Reagentless. Still No Membranes.
The H2 uses the same proven three-electrode amperometric sensing technology at its core — no reagents to replenish, no membranes to replace, and a self-cleaning system with captive cleaning beads and a long-life pump that keeps the sensor surface clear without operator intervention. The flow-independent design means accurate readings whether the sensor is in a wet-tap, side-stream flow cell, or immersion installation.
The measurement cycle runs every 60 seconds, delivering 0-20 ppm free chlorine with 10 ppb limit of detection and ±5% accuracy across pH 6.5 to 8.75. The H2 also simultaneously measures pH, ORP, conductivity, and temperature — five parameters from a single probe with no moving reagent parts.

Available Models
The H2 ships in three configurations to match your installation:
D-H1WT-P
Wet Tap
Direct insertion into pressurized mains — no flow cell or sample line needed.
D-H1LF-P
Immersion / Side Stream
For open basins, contact tanks, or side-stream flow cell installations.
D-H1MF-P
PVC TEE
Inline TEE mount for pipe runs where a permanent tapped connection is preferred.
Easy-to-Service Exchange Program
The H2 was designed around serviceability from day one. The new exchange program lets you swap individual components — the chlorine sensor, pH sensor, or wear part kit — rather than sending the whole unit in for service. Pre-calibrated replacement chlorine sensors ship factory-ready, so you install and go. That means less downtime, lower total cost of ownership, and no lapse in monitoring coverage.
What This Means for Your Operation
If you're already running MP5 sensors, the H2 is a natural upgrade path — same D20 controller compatibility, same operational philosophy, better serviceability and longer component life. If you're evaluating reagentless chlorine monitoring for the first time, the H2 represents the most mature and field-proven option on the market: a decade of real-world deployment data backing a design that just got significantly easier to own and operate.
